The Alcatel Webtouch Easy

The Alcatel Webtouch Easy is in theory a device you plug into your phone line to allow you to surf on the Web and read your email :

But it can be much more fun, because it's based on a XPC832e PowerPC system-on-chip, supported by Linux :-)
Along with this chip, the device also features :

• a 640x480 256 color LCD screen
• 12MB FlashROM
• 32MB RAM
• keyboard
• a joystick-like mouse
• Centronics parallel port
• RS232 or PS/2 port (to be checked)
• built-in 56k modem, based on a documented Texas Instruments DSP

The device is equipped with JTAG parts. I have managed to figure out the pinout of the JTAG connector that goes to the DSP ; sadly, it seems they have not arranged the parts in a JTAG chain. The debug interface of the MPC823 seems to be on a separate connector, for which I don't have the pinout.
Moreover, the MPC823 is in a BGA package :(
