Thanks to the work of Takeshi Matsuya from Keio University and Clark Xin, Linux (noMMU target) is now running on the open source Milkymist system-on-chip platform.
This proves the capability of the system to run complex software, and makes future software developments easier by providing a well-known environment along with a huge collection of applications, libraries and drivers.
Milkymist is today the fastest FPGA open source system-on-chip capable of running Linux.
